Front Yard Photo Shoot

Saturday & Sunday were beautiful here in Texas! We were heading to Cabela's on Saturday when daddy got a call & had to head to the shop. So while waiting on him to get back, we had a little front yard photo shoot.
Zane was more cooperative than Berkley. She won't sit still for even a couple of seconds at at time. She LOVES being outside. She loves to pick up rocks & sticks, & she is a dirt eater! At least Zane is old enough to understand a bribe!

Pig Tails

Berkley's hair is long enough to put into Pig Tails now. She won't leave them in very long, but they are OH SO CUTE!

Now if you don't think she is the prettiest little thing ... you are crazy! (I'm not biased!)

More Progress on the House

More progress has been made on the house. Most of the ceiling are framed. I am glad this upcoming week will be cool for the framers. Patrick & some of his employees have been helping out when they are slow at the AC & Heating shop. (Can you tell even Patrick is ready to get into a new place!?)

The 1st 4 pictures are of the backside of the house.

DONE

I am officially DONE with the Real Estate Correspondence courses through University of Texas at Arlington. I still have a long way to go before getting my license. I am mailing off my evaluation tomorrow. The state will review my evaluation & send me a testing date to take my actual Real Estate Exam.

Finally figured it out ... a splash of color!

I finally figured it out ... Adding a splash of color to black & white.

I had purchased Photoshop Elements 7 a while ago. After having to spend HOURS on the program to figure out editing, I broke down & ordered Photoshop Elements 7 For Dummies. I was pretty frustrated with that as well because I still couldn't figure out how to add the color to black & white photos. I gave up for a while. Tonight I decided I was going to do it! I had to search via the Internet to give me some help. The above is my results.

This is a favorite summer photo of Berkley. It is nothing spectacular, but I find it very cute! It as if she is telling Zane, "Girls can play with rocks & Tonka trucks, too!"

Memaw's Wigs

As most of you are aware, Starla, Norman & the boys now live with my mom, aka Memaw. Berkley & I were headed to the football game last Friday night & as soon as we entered Aubrey city limits ... IT POURED! So rather than heading to the stadium, we headed to Memaw's house. Mom had told me that Nolan showed up at the breakfast table one morning wearing her wigs. Nolan is rather a funny character so this really did not surprise me. I thought it was hilarious so I made him reenact it!

Nolan sporting one of Memaw's wigs

And Berkley sporting the other! Nolan's wig could really be his real hair. Berkley looks like a rocker in hers! Starla asked Nolan one summer morning what he had for breakfast. His response was, "Thirteen dum-dum suckers!" Look what Berkley found! She didn't get herself sticky at all; she wasted NONE of it! ~Patsi~

Rain, Rain .. Go Away!

As most of you know, Denton County got some rain & a bunch of it! As bad as we needed rain, it has now put us back a couple of weeks. The framers continued on Friday. Lots of progress has been made since I last posted pictures of the place. Everytime we pull up Zane says, "That's our house. It's almost built!"

Ready for some hunting

Zane & Patrick were heading to the deer lease to fill deer feeders this afternoon. Zane was so excited! He dressed himself: camo fishing hat, UT shirt, high water pants, western belt & his cowboy boots! PRICELESS!
And Patrick made the comment, "I didn't even notice that his pants were too short!"
And yes, they headed out today & this is what our little man wore!

Four Wheeling & Sliding

On Tuesdays & Thursdays the kids come to the shop with me after I get them from Mother's Day Out. It works out well. We have a nursery set up so they can play & watch TV. There are days when Patrick's employees are in & out of the shop. The guys are so good with the kids. Zane is really crazy about our new hire. And as you will see below, he is pretty cool with Zane as well.

Brandon & Zane on Zane's 4 Wheeler
Berkley watched from the front door.
Since we did not plan to be in the rent house but 4-5 months, most of the kids toys went to storage. Now since it looks like we won't be in our new house until at least December, I tried to get a few things out so they could have something new to play with. Remember we went from 2500 square feet to 900 square feet. Literally half of our things are in storage! Oh how we can't wait to be in the new place!

I was actually looking to get Berkley's ride-on toy she got for Christmas out of storage, but since I could not find that box for the life of me, I brought in the slide. As you will see, she loved it!

(Check out those chunky thighs! I could eat them up!)

We really have a great deal of fun! I plan to go back to work when Zane starts school in 2010-2011 school year. I know it will be hard, & I try to cherish my time I have with them!

1st Day of Mother's Day Out 2009

Both kids started Mother's Day Out on Tuesday, September 7th. I was very unsure of how Berkley would react after being home with me for so long. I had even worked it out with the director for her to stay just a few hours a day for the 1st week, but there was no need. As stated previously (see Meet the Teacher), she went right in & did wonderful! The teacher actually told me she was the best child! She played, ate all her lunch, & then laid right down on her nap mat & took a 2+ hour nap. The nap mat thing is what I truely worried about. Berkley NEVER sleeps anywhere but in her crib or her pack-and-play. She doesn't even sleep in the stroller or car. So I was very nervous about this. But hey, she made a liar out of me!
I was really not too worried about Zane ... more worried about his new teachers. Just kidding! He did great as well. In his own words, "Mom I was good at school today. I only pushed ONE kid REALLY hard!" Hey, he is honest!

Today was the 2nd day of the week. Berkley did cry when I left the room, but the teachers said she was wonderful again. So I had fears for nothing, she is just fine without me. It is adorable when she sees me come to get her. She gets a giggly face on & lights up like I am a rock star! Love it!

We were leaving today & Zane saw a little girl from his class leaving with her grandmother. He said, "Mom that girl wants to marry me. I don't know why!" It was so cute & funny! I guess it is okay, the little girl kept asking Zane last year, "Wanna be my boyfriend?" So I guess in the mind of babes, marriage is the next step!

Labor Day

We usually spend Labor Day at the lake, but we have been so busy this year. Patrick spent the day helping the framers on our new house. The kids & I headed to mom's for some wonderful fajitas made by Norman.

Norman, Zane, Kenzie, & Nolan

Berkley joining the crew. Not sure why, but I didn't take many pictures. We spent the day talking & eating. Well, Zane spent the day terrorizing Norman & Nolan, while Berkley ran around the house doing whatever, & I talked & ate. Wonderful!

A Non-Speechless Sunday

I am seeing Speechless Sunday's on my blogging friends page. Well, I can't do a speechless Sunday because I am never speechless! Anyhow, Sunday, Berkley & I went to church with my mom, then had lunch with her, Starla, Norman & the boys. Zane & Patrick spent time at his parents working on his dad's boat.

My mother got Berkley this adorable dress for her birthday.

The kids are always excited to see each other after being apart, even for a short time. I am sure this will change. But here they are looking out the back window.
