Happy 4th Birthday Zane!

FOUR years ago today, we became the PROUD parents of:

Zane Bailey

8 lbs. 13 oz.

8:41 p.m.

Today Zane weighs 38 pounds! And, it is so HARD to believe that our baby boy is FOUR! Zane has brought so much joy into our lives. He is the most outgoing, stubborn, strong-willed, loving, energetic, intelligent child I have ever met! He enjoys hunting, riding his 4-wheeler & tractor, swimming, reading, playing with plastic animals, guns, & balls!

I do not have much time tonight due to company being in town, packing, & just plain being worn out from birthday party stuff, but I am posting several pictures to let you see just how much our little man has GROWN & matured!

We celebrated today at Wazoos in Arygle (jump house entertainment) with friends & family members. Zane choose a Scooby Doo party! He had so much fun! Thank you to all who came out & joined us; we truly appreciate it & know how very blessed we are!

Our new place ... Ponderosa Valley

We are finally getting a plan in motion ... seriously moving forward. We are purchasing land in the Ponderosa Valley in Ponder, Texas. We will sign on the land on April 10th, & begin building shortly after that. We are excited! The lot is 5 acres & very pretty, WITH TREES! Check it out below.

Ft. Worth Zoo

We took the kids to the Ft. Worth Zoo on Tuesday. Zane LOVED it! Berkley is still a little young to understand or show interest, but she loved her some "dippin' dots"! Zane's favorite animal was the bears. He thought they were cool.

Something about the zoo has always interested me, well actually fascinates me. I love the zoo! It is something about nature & God's creations. I know people feel sorry for the animals at the zoo, & I see that to an extent. But, these animals do not have to find food, get to play & hang out without worry of being eaten by someone higher on the food chain, etc. And the animals are so pretty!

Zane loved this snake! He even tried to touch it. YUCK!

Poor Patrick carried Zane like this most of the day. How cute are they? Watching the giraffe Riding the baby elephant Poor Berkley was hot. He loves fish & was amazed by all the colors.
Yes, it was crowded, but we had a good time! We had to park WAY out, but it was worth it for the few hours we were there. Zane had a great time!

Outdoor Fun

Finally some pictures ... I know that is what you all really come to this page for.

Last week was very pretty. Zane loves to play outside so Berkley & I watched him. The kid could live outside. Berkley is hard to contain outside. She wants to be down to crawl. So she fusses, & whines, but I can't have her eating rocks, dirt, & bugs she finds. It will be nice when her & Zane are able to play outside together! But, I don't want to rush her!

Berkley - 11 months This kid could play in the rocks all day long! Okay, the hole in his jeans started out the size of a dime. I didn't even know there was a hole in them until we got to Stride Rite to get him some shoes. Before we made it home, he was sitting in his car seat & he was so excited as he said, "Look the hole is BIGGER!" He was so proud! Riding his big wheel from Santa ... remember these?

Sorry Folks!

I have been a HORRIBLE blogger! Sorry! I want to blog, but just don't have the time to do so or upload pictures. I am packing like crazy, making several runs a week to Goodwill, working 2 days a week, planning both kids birthday parties, trying to keep up with the kids, etc.

The move has began. We have a few things moved to the rent house. We are hoping to be moved the weekend of April 3rd & 4th. The new buyers take possession of the home on April 10th. (We are assuming that things should go smoothly since we are already getting mail in their name here & I have gotten 2 calls from the phone company asking when they can set up their service & move ours. Yeah, CRAZY!) I did some paint touch-up at the rental property tonight with my nieces and did a little cleaning. I am actually excited to get this over with. We close on our land on April 10th as well. We have purchased land in the Ponderosa edition in Ponder. Exciting!

The kids are doing well. Zane is about to turn 4! Very hard to believe! He is as crazy as ever, but has been using wonderful manners when we are out eating. He told our waiter the other day, "Excuse me Sir. Can you bring me dessert?" (No such luck, but cute!) Berkley will be 1 in April. Hard to believe as well! She is crawling & LOVES to be in Big Brother Zane's room! As soon as I sit her down in the mornings to play, she heads straight for his room. She thinks he is the funniest thing ever, laughing at everything he does! She had an ear infection a couple of weeks ago, when taking her into the doctor, she weighed 20.6 pounds! Zane weighed 21 pounds at his 1 year check-up! She is our chunky monkey! Adorable & as Zane says, "Pretty girl!"

We took the kids to the zoo this week. I have plenty of pictures to post, but have not had time to upload any of them. Zane had a blast! Berkley is still too young to understand & really enjoy things like this.

I promise to post some pictures eventually! I just flat do not have any time to upload & post. But, hang with me! When things settle down, I promise to get them on here.

Zane's BIG boo-boo

Zane was playing outside the shop on Tuesday. He was climbing the wall outside & fell. He scrapped his entire tummy & boy did it HURT! He rarely cries when hurt. He is just tough & refuses to cry. But this incident broke my heart, he hurt so bad! He bawled! I took him home & bathed him (yes, he SCREAMED), & then we sprayed him down with Lanacane. He fell asleep about 6:30pm & didn't wake up until 8:30am! He feld much better Wednesday morning. Poor baby!

An update

Just an update:

We have to be out of our house the first weekend in April. Due to being unable to find anything for sale at a reasonable price with the economy, we are building. We have purchased land in the Ponderosa edition in Ponder. We are hoping to sign this week & break soil shortly. Until the house is built, we will be living in one of the rental properties here in Justin. (FUN! A 900 square foot home & Zane together could be trying this summer!) We have finally picked out house plans. The homeowners association in the Ponderosa is crazy! We have to submit our blue prints & then have the committee agree on them before we can break ground.

I HATE packing! Actually, I really do not know how to pack. I know that sounds crazy, but seriously, I NEVER moved as a child. My mom has lived in the same house for 35 years now! I moved to SFA for college, but that was from home to a dorm so I really didn't take much. Then after we married, I moved to Justin with Patrick into a small place until we built here. We literally didn't have much to move then ... that was prior to the kids. BUT, I am doing it! I have the formal dining packed & am working on the upstairs.

She could be Starla's kid ....

Seriously ... Berkley could be Starla's kid! She looks so much like Starla ... forehead & eyes especially. I have some of Starla's baby pictures, but due to the move, I will need to find them. I will try to scan a couple when I come across them. These pictures were taken today.

Beautiful Weather

I LOVE Texas weather! It has been beautiful lately. Last week it was in the 70's & 80's & this week seems to be the same. We joined the Lobsinger & Page families at the local park on Friday afternoon. Zane & Berkley both love the park!

Fun at Memaw's house

We spent last Sunday at my mom's with Starla & the boys. Mom cooked a GREAT meal & the boys played outside. No pictures of Princess Berkley this post because she was inside. My nephews, Norman & Nolan, (Starla's boys) are Zane's best buddies. He loves them so very much!

School Pictures

Zane has school pictures taken at Mother's Day Out a few weeks ago. I picked them up today. What a handsome little guy I have!! (Of course, this picture was taken minutes before he cut a HUGE hole in his shirt! And his reason for doing it, in his own words, "I wanted to be a bad guy not a good guy!") We love him!
