Pony Fun

Before I started blogging, my sister Renae got Zane a pony for his 3rd birthday. It was a surprise to all of us, including Patrick & I! Zane loves horses, & his pony is cute as all get out. It wasn't broke so after it ran another large horse through a couple of fences, we loaded him up & took him back to Aunt Nae's barn. Now, Butter, as he is being called now, (A year ago his name was Smokey, but it looks like Butter is sticking. Not sure where Zane came up with Butter, but hey it will work!) is officially broke! Aunt Nae got him a new saddle on Saturday, he stayed the night & did some riding.

Zane & Butter

Berkley LOVED Butter too! This was her first time on a real pony. I don't get it-- she loved the real pony, but she is scared too death of the Chuck-E-Cheese rides & the rides at the mall. (And notice, she is hanging on tight to her raggy, we can't go anywhere without a raggy or two!) The pictures are very poor quality. Believe it or not, I forgot my camera & had to use the camera phone. Lance's girlfriend let me use her camera but I haven't gotten them via e-mail yet.

Not only did Zane get to ride, but he also learned the duties of horse care. Aunt Nae taught him to undo the saddle, take the saddle off, put the saddle up, & the brush his pony down. I got some pictures of that too & will post them when I get the e-mail.

It looks like both my kids are pony lovers!

Lake Ray Roberts Beach

Zane & I had a play date at Lake Ray Robert's beach area on Friday. (Berkley was to go as well, but due to the temperature here in Texas being between 103-105, there was no way I was taking her out so she stayed with Nana.) Zane had never really played on the beach before. We go to the lake often, but we are on the boat doing fishing & fun activities rather than parking & letting the kids play in the sand. Needless to say, this whole sand & water thing is right up his alley! The kid LOVED it! We could only take the heat for a couple of hours but had a wonderful time! We can't wait to do it again!

About to hit the water!

This kid loves rocks & dirt! Zane with his friend Connor.

Look who's walking

Finally, Princess Berkley has started walking! She still prefers to crawl, & she is really fast at that. She refuses to continue to walk if no one is clapping for her! She still has a really wide stance & claps as she walks too. She is over 14 months old! Check her out!

Notice how much hair she has now. Dark & getting really thick! Oh, did I mention curls!?

There she is -- Happy & walking! We have her 15 month check-up on the 17th of July. She has been really good health wise. Last week was the week she should have ran a fever & there was none. Praise God! I am a little concerned today just because her eyes are not looking so great (a little glassy & dark circles). I am bound & determined to stay out of the doctor's office until our well check up on the 17th!

Swim Lessons

Zane is taking swim lessons again this summer. Two weeks ago, he was acting like he was TERRIFIED of the water so I enrolled him. And then last week, he started swimming again. We were already enrolled so we have been attending. The swim teacher is trying to teach him to float. Zane is in refusal! He says, "I don't want to float. I don't want the sun in my eyes & water gets in my ears & that is NOT okay!" He is back to swimming like a fish!

Eight Years

June 16th marked EIGHT years for Patrick & I!

We each got a GPS for our vehicles for our anniversary, but he also had flowers delivered to me at the shop! I was very surprised!
Thank you Patrick for the best 8 years! I love you more & more each day!

Fun in the Sun!

Patrick would tell you that we have the best pool right now -- the neighbors! We get to enjoy the pool, & Patrick isn't responsible for the pool maintenance! I do miss our pool, BADLY! We have been taking advantage of our neighbor's pool quite a bit the last week or so. I will say this is Berkley's first actual pool experience since the last one only lasted 30 seconds & she never even made it in the water!

At first, Berkley didn't enjoy the water.

But, it didn't take her long. And of course, Zane LOVES any pool! Daddy helping Berkley kick. Zane, Daddy, & Berkley enjoying some fun in the sun! Oh, how I miss our pool!

Choo-Choo Train party!

We attended a "Choo-Choo Train" Birthday party on Saturday. It was so much FUN! Zane loved this train pulled by a riding lawn mower! So cute! Berkley on the other hand did not like it at all. She is a little on the scared side when it comes to things.

Zane LOVED the train!

The birthday boys dad pulling the kids. The kids & I. (It was really hot! Berkley's face is really red!) Birthday parties are not fun with Berkley when it comes cake time. She can't have cake due to her milk protein allergy. I try to take snacks & foods she can eat to try & make things better for her. (I seriously pack a lunch any time we go anywhere for an extended period of time, even at my mom's house.) I feel so bad & try to entertain her in other ways when it comes snack/cake time. Here she is enjoying her "100% Allergen Free" Snickerdoodle cookies! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend & stayed cool!

Cayson Edward Harris has arrived!

Cayson Edward Harris
June 9th, 2009
7 lbs. 3 oz.
18.5 inches
Proud parents: Tonya & Anson
Proud Big Sister: Madison

I showed Cayson to Berkley & she immediately took his little cap off. So that was it for her! Zane said, "I LOVE babies! But if we get another baby, I'll be SICK! I don't want another baby!" "Wanna know how to STAY in trouble & cause some real mischief? I can show you the ropes! I am a PRO!"
The kids & I headed to the hospital yesterday (Wednesday) to meet the new little cowboy. And boy, is he ever cute! I could seriously eat him up; he is SOOO adorable!

CONGRATS to Tonya, Anson, & Miss Madison!

Hanging out at Memaw's

On Saturday, Patrick & Zane headed to Houston for another load of his parents stuff. So Berkley & I headed to Memaw's where we met Aunt Nae with some Babe's Chicken (Yum!) & Aunt Starla with her crew.

Berkley was in a wonderful mood! Here she is chatting with Uncle Norman.

Tractor Fun

This is what we were doing on Friday night, just prior to Zane stating, "Mom, why is my ear bleeding?" (Ruptured ear drum, read previous post.)

Berkley LOVES it outside!

This tractor was the best Santa gift EVER! Zane has ridden it for over 2 years & it looks like Berkley is going to love it too!

The Princess of the house spikes another fever!

UGHHHH! Berkley has spiked another fever. It is the 3rd time since April 9th! She was fine yesterday morning. About nap time, she felt warm. Her fever was 100.4. No biggie right!? Put her down for a nap, & she woke up with 104.8! Yep, back to the doctor we went. Our pedi ordered another chest x-ray. Everything was fine. They tested her stool again -- perfect! (So yes, the milk/soy free diet is working.) Anyhow, once again she acts fine. She is eating, drinking, wetting, playing, etc. Her sleeping is off, but her fever is high. She is up about every 1.5 hours. I am alternating Motrin & Tylenol EVERY 3 hours! The fever is responding to the medicines. Temperature goes down for about 2 hours & 45 minutes, then up again it goes! The pedi thinks we are dealing with some kind of fever syndrome!
Any suggestions?

I am at my wits end! I have worried like crazy & lost numerous hours of sleep.

I am to the point of taking her into Cook's in Fort Worth to get a 2nd opinion. I hate to have her go through all the testing again, as it is painful, scary, & just plain horrible for her. Her fever never got above 103 today, until this evening when we had a "shiver fit" & jacked a 103.3!

I feel horrible for her! She is just plain miserable when her temperature rises. Her eyes look terrible (my neighbor freaked out when seeing her today).

What do I do? I'll keep you all posted!
